Payment rewards guide
How OnePay rewards can affect Walmart deal math.
Payment rewards can be a separate savings layer. They should be checked carefully because rates, caps, eligibility, and monthly category rules can change.
Current official detail to verify
OnePay's official banking page currently describes rewards that may include 3% cash back at Walmart with Banking+ on up to $150 spent per month, with cash back earned as points. It also says reward details should be reviewed in the OnePay app or promotional communications.
Do not publish a 5% Walmart cash back claim without verifying the current official OnePay terms. The official page I checked surfaced 3%, not 5%.
How to think about it
- First calculate the shelf price, sale price, and any store or manufacturer savings.
- Then calculate cashback app rebates, if any.
- Then consider payment rewards such as OnePay if the purchase qualifies.
What to verify before counting it
- Whether the shopper has the required OnePay account status or Banking+ access.
- Whether Walmart is the selected category for the month.
- The current reward rate, cap, and eligible purchase types.
- Whether rewards are earned as points and how those points redeem to cash.
